Ok, I am by far not the best mom and sometimes I think I am the worst mom, but I am trying to be not only the best mom I can be but a respected mom that teaches her kids manners, obedience, respect and all the other small things that children today are lacking...
Today I was super excited to take the boys to the splash pad for a picnic and then spend the rest of the day playing the wii and board games basically just a whole day where the boys get all my attention... Well it started out great, I packed a fun lunch for me and the boys and off to the splash pad we went... It was so nice to play with the boys and visit with Kacey and it was looking to be a fun day...
Well let me back up a little bit, on the way to the splash pad I told Treycen the rules of the day, which were: 1. No fighting
2. No hitting, biting or any type of violence
3. No use of bad words or mean words such as Stupid, Hate, Loser etc.
I asked if he understood the rules, and then told him the consequences of breaking one of those rules
which were:
1. Verbal Warning
2. Time out in the car for 3 minutes
3. Take him home and he will be grounded from the Wii, friends and TV for the rest of the day and maybe the next day...
Well he was fighting with Tallen and saying mean words about after 20 minutes of playing so he was verbally warned and about 15 minutes later I saw him just swinging punches at Bailey, so I took him over to the car and there we sat for 3 minutes, he said he was sorry and he will play nice... I thought yay he is understanding that his actions have consequences so now he will be super aware of how he wants to behave and act... Well all the kids wanted to play at the park so I sent my trusted babysitter Bailey over to supervise and within 10 minutes Bailey comes walking over to me and tells me Treycen just bit Treyven, oh great there goes my day of play, he is on his last punishment "Going Home and being grounded" GRRRRR I was so disappointed and sad a huge part of me just wanted to put him in time out again and give him another chance but my good mother attitude kicked in and told myself I have to be committed to my word or he will never learn that I am serious! So I packed up all my stuff and headed for the car and to Treycen's amazement we were actually going home and he was being grounded, it really hit him hard as I am dragging him into the car he is just balling uncontrollably and inside I was crying too, cause not only did he ruin mine and Aiden's day of play but he was crying and that really breaks my heart... On the drive home he is telling me that I think he's stupid and that I hate him... I have never told Treycen or anyone that they are stupid and that is a word we do not use in my house so kindly and patiently I tell him "how much I love him and how smart he is and that I am just disappointed in his behavior today and I hope he learned a valuable lesson of being true to his word and that all actions have consequences...
It was a very hard lesson for me to learn as well, I always give in and never commit to my word because I am also a little selfish and I want to play and I really enjoy playing with the boys and having fun... But a moms gotta do what a moms gotta do... I love you Treycen so very much and I hope you learned a very hard lesson today...
(Sorry Kacey for having to cut our play date short and sorry to Treyven for Treycen biting him)
But we did manage to have a little fun before we had to leave...
Aiden is a huge mommies boy, his seat of choice is always my lap...
I absolutely love and adore these two boys...
I figured if I try and take silly pictures that maybe Treycen would be more happy to let me take pictures... But nope I got the same reaction, pouty face!
I love Picnics!
Aiden also loves and adores his cousin Bailey...
